Copyright & Fair Use in the Classroom

This guide is intended to help faculty navigate the use and reproduction of copyright protected works in the classroom and on online course platforms.

Fair Use Best Practices based on US Copyright Law

The following resources provide best practices in fair use in fields relevant to AUD's programs and may be of interest. Please do note that they may include references to additional exceptions in US copyright law, for example, "face-to-face" instruction and distance education. These exceptions do not apply to for-profit educational institutions and are not included in UAE copyright law.
