What are the Library Opening Hours?

Library opening hours vary depending on the time of year. Click here to see the updated Library hours.

How do I print or photocopy?

Printing and photocopying services are available in the Library. Students receive an initial amount of free printing credit at the beginning of each semester but after that, you will need to pay for both services. The amount of free printing credit depends on what course you are studying.

If you have credit, just log in to any computer or photocopier in the Library and print your work. If you do not have credit, you will need to purchase this through the self-service payment machine available in the library or at the Finance Department.

Both the printers and photocopiers are located in a room near the entrance to the Library.

Can I scan my documents in Library? Do I need to pay?

Yes, you can use the scanning machine located in the printing room. You do not need to pay for scanning, you only need to make sure you have topped up your printing credits before printing a document. Please read the previous question for detailed instructions on printing credits.

There are two different Library accounts you need to know about:First: AUD Library Account that allows you to check out books and physical materials as well as log in when you click on “Read Online” when searching the library selecting Full-Text Search

Second: AUD Library e-Resource Access that allows you to access Library electronic resources including databases on and off campus

Can I download e-books on my iPad, smartphone, tablet, or computer or read them offline?

We have access to major e-book databases (ProQuest eLibrary and EBSCO eBooks), both of which can be viewed (read) online and offline. In order to read an eBook offline or download it, do follow the steps below and install software on your PC, tablet/iPad, or smartphone:

1.    Create an account on EBSCO (you will be prompted) to download a title. This is not necessarily an AUD account and can be any username and password you prefer. It is not necessary to create a personal account to download eBooks on our ProQuest platform.

2.    Follow the prompts and - install/download Adobe Digital Editions for your PC, Mac, or laptop. Download Bluefire Reader app from Google Play on your Android phone or tablet or from iTunes for an Apple device (iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad)

3.    eBooks are available for different loan periods and access from your digital library will be lost after this period.

Can I read books online when I am off campus?

You can access electronic books while inside or outside the university. Just make sure you login with the same username and password as your Blackboard and click on “Read Online” or “FullText PDF”.

Can I access databases when I am off campus? How?

The majority of AUD Library databases are also available off campus. You can access them by entering your username and password (the same credentials as you use for Blackboard and AUD PC). Some require that you set up an additional account on campus to access off-campus - these include ArtStor and The New York Times.

Why don’t the links to the databases work, after I copy/paste them in my email?

Be sure to identify and copy the "permalink" URL of the article/book from the record of the resource.

Example: https://ezproxy.aud.edu/login?url=https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=155903010&site=ehost-live&scope=site

Add ‘web proxy prefix’ to the beginning of the URL. AUD prefix: https://ezproxy.aud.edu/login?url=

Complete link example:

https://ezproxy.aud.edu/login?url=https://ezproxy.aud.edu/login?url=https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=a9h&AN=155903010&site=ehost-live&scope=site
