This guide highlights the library resources and services available in the field of Special and Inclusive Education

Supportive Services

Physical and virtual library spaces and facilities are accessible, welcoming, and affirming to all. The library actively seeks to identify and eliminate barriers to inclusion.

Existing facilities include but not limited to:

  • The Circulation desk is at the entrance of the library staffed with professionals to assist with all queries.
  • A private study room is available to cater to students with special needs.
  • Study desks and computer desks are reserved in the library to comfortably accommodate wheelchair access.
  • The library subscribes to a large collection of digital research resources that provide:
  1. Zoom magnification of text.
  2. Text-to-speech and related read-aloud tools.
  • The library provides:
  1. A Braille Pad to assist users in accomplishing academic and research tasks.
  2. Peripheral equipment for circulation, that may support different learning and reading needs, including headphones and iPads which provide print magnification.
  3. Open Dyslexic application
  4. Balabolka: This is a Text-To-Speech (TTS) program
  5. Braille Pad
  • Tailored-instruction sessions, as well as one-to-one consultation sessions, are offered to cover information literacy and research guidance.
